The work of Marie-Claude Marquis is a rendering of accounts of the daily universe in which she lives. Her work illustrates the life-style and imagery of people from her generation and principally those who gravitate around her. Her works question human reactions, the intimacy of daily life and the uniqueness of each individual. Painting allows her to play with people and places to create familiar scenes where one can recognize one’s self.
