ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Annick Langelier considers her art to be spiritual, essentially a product of her emotions and values. Fantastic motifs permeate her œuvre, found in the deformed faces of her human (and sometimes animal) figures, the jewel-like vivacity of her colours, the fragmented perspective, and the tension between the comic and the dire.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Annick Langelier was born in the Gaspesie where she passed most of her childhood. At the age of 18 she participated, together with other young artists, at two exhibitions at the Marché Bonsecours. A few years later she took part in an exhibition at the Galerie Outremont, followed by an exhibition at Monsieur Éric.
Annick Langelier lives and works in Montreal.
