DIVINA INFLUENZA

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

This work functions as a miraculous sickness, fallen from the sky. As a sparkly clarity attained through bits of frozen pain.
It assumes the reality of a mind being shaken by incontrolable, estranging, extremely overwhelming feelings, caused by an alien entity, love.
It is like running in a sunny green field, then stumbling and falling because of a hidden rock on the beautiful green field.
Then finally deciding that the bruise one got from the fall is actually a great matching accessory to the beautiful purple dress one is wearing on that exact same day.

Exhibition Dates:
November 12 - 21, 2009

Vernissage:
Thursday, November 12, 2009

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Natalia Valencia was born in Bogotá in 1984, where she finished her BFA in 2006 in Universidad de los Andes. She is mostly a multidisciplinary artist who has lately been flirting with home-made, cheap, out-of-tune, intimate and lovely music composition, incorporating it to images to create bizarre, contemplative soundscapes. She also loves to invent thematic soirées, as an excuse for dressing extravagantly.
