ABOUT THE ARTIST

I was born in N. S.: I have lived in Quebec most of my life. Painter and printmaker, my botanical prints are exhibited internationally. I exhibited a large print mural at the Museum of Civilizations of Canada in 2001-2003 and was the invited artist for Canada Days Celebration sponsored by the Canadian Embassy in Damascus, Syria in 2006. My studio is a small church in a pasture at 1626 chemin Hudon, located east of the village of Dunham. I teach the creative process in my drawing, painting and printmaking courses. I teach Painting From Within®.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Where is Here and Where I Was describe the work that evolved during my work period in Montreal for the ELAN Artist Residency with the support of Canada Council.

My in situ inspiration-muse and my gathering-collecting habit have brought together the recycled debris of the place Where I Was in a green zone and combined it with the Where is Here, the city of Montreal, its buildings, its garbage, and its people.

This new work combines drawings, photography, printmaking, and digital work, in contrast to my work from Where I Was, where I create large botanical prints using the weeds and indigenous plants around my studio in the "middle of nowhere" and maybe more.
