L'UNIVERS DE SYLCA

A few words on the artist

I was born in the heart of Québec on the shores of the St-François river on Hemming Falls Road. I grew up in an artistic family. My father is a well-known sculptor in the region. Also, many members of my family work in the world of visual arts.
I am an self-taught painter and I am very in touch with nature. My paintings reflect my imagination, emotions which come directly from my heart and my soul.
The medium I most frequently use is acrylic. I like to work it either in textures or in transparency using a palette knife, stones or a brush. I like to explore different methods such as using white
goose feathers and recently, I worked with sea sculptures, My paintings are full of energy, pure colour and happiness which projects the passion and fire that are within me.

Depending on the site or the environment, I capture the energy and the mood of the moment using abstract, figurative and festive trends. My paintings are created sometimes in the forest of Mont
Mégantic, sometimes in the heart of downtown Montréal, or by the waters of the Gaspésie regions.
