GANDHARA WHISPER

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
The media sells the impression that Africa is simply a wasteland of despair, war, famine, malaria and AIDS. But visitors who take the time are overwhelmed by simple humanity, joy and family bonds that survive. Many of the images in this exhibition highlight Shona sculptures from Zimbabwe. The artistic imagination and understated beauty are witness to time lived beyond headlines and statistics. A royalty is being paid to sculptors whose work has been "sampled".
